AmazonFACE ( UPSC Prelims)

News Context

Researchers in Brazil have initiated the AmazonFACE (Free-Air CO₂ Enrichment) project close to Manaus.
      ○ The project aims to replicate future atmospheric conditions to evaluate how tropical forests respond to increasing levels of CO₂, temperature, and humidity.
      ○ It will investigate the carbon uptake capacity, photosynthesis, and forest resilience by continuously monitoring CO₂ absorption every 10 minutes.
