Malabar Grey hornbill ( UPSC Prelims)

News Context

Researchers from Kerala received the Future Conservationist Award from the Conservation Leadership Programme (CLP) for their efforts in preserving the Malabar Grey Hornbill. The CLP is a collaboration between Fauna & Flora International, BirdLife International, and the Wildlife Conservation Society. This bird is native to the Western Ghats of India. Unlike other hornbills, it does not have the typical casque and is known for its loud, laugh-like call.
