About: Establishes the framework for international collaboration to enhance meteorological, climatological, hydrological, and related environmental services, aiming to improve the well-being of all.
 Genesis: Founded in 1950 as a specialized agency of the United Nations.
 Member: Comprises 193 Member States, including India.
 Initiative: The Indian Navy organized the Meghayan-25 Symposium to celebrate the formation of the World Meteorological Organisation (WMO) and WMO Day 2025.
 Global Atmosphere Watch (GAW) Programme: Oversees global atmospheric monitoring networks.

  ● Greenhouse Gas Bulletin: Record CO2 Levels: Atmospheric CO2 reached 423.9 ppm in 2024, an increase of 3.5 ppm from 2023, marking the largest annual rise since records began in 1957.  
  ● Warmest Year on Record: 2024, with global temperatures 1.55°C above pre-industrial levels.  
    ● Radiative forcing: Long-lived greenhouse gases increased by 54%.  
    ● Radiative forcing allows for approximate comparison of climatic effects of various changes to the planet.  
        ○ Large radiative forcing indicates a proportionate change in global mean temperature.
